Uber Twitterers (‘Cause They Tweet THAT Good)

The always brill Sam Whitmore sent the following out in his mediasurvey.com email today, an update on his list earlier this year of “influential” Twitter users. The names range from ‘of course’ to ‘bizarre.’ E.g. Peter Shankman, ‘of course,’ he’s a PR master and comes at ideas from an entrepreneurial point of view, which is often inspiring. Leo Laporte on the other hand rates a ‘bizarre’ from me… his last post?

“The only place Crocs with socks don’t look out of place. near Waterworld, Concord CA USA

Hmmm….

Not all that interesting to me. Maybe he just has a lot of loyal friends? Dunno. Leo, if you’re out there, email me and challenge my perception.

Please.

What I guess I wonder about the most is whether or not the content of the posts make them better or more popular. Is content king on Twitter?

Interestingly, the same day I was pondering the content quality on Twitter, I noticed Robert Scoble post the following:

Robert Scoble's observations about user-generated content on Google Reader, Twitter and FriendFeed.

What do you think? What’s your experience? My two cents is that I use Google Reader most on my Blackberry, where I cannot add comments when sharing. So what he’s saying is about the three services, by including Google Reader, is a little apples vs. oranges to me…
